How do I record a GPS track?
Open PeakTrace, tap the Record button, and select your activity type (Skiing, Cycling, or Hiking). Make sure to grant location permissions when prompted. Tap Stop when you're done.
Why does the app need "Always" location access?
PeakTrace records GPS tracks continuously during your activity. Background location access ensures your track keeps recording when the phone is in your pocket, the screen is off, or you briefly switch to another app. Without it, your track would have large gaps.
Where is my data stored?
All your tracks and data are stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to any server unless you explicitly enable the optional cloud backup via Google Sign-In.
How do I export my tracks?
Open a track, tap the share icon, and select Export as GPX. You can then share the file via email, AirDrop, or any other app.
How do I delete my data?
You can delete individual tracks from the track list. To delete all data, go to Settings and choose "Delete all data", or simply uninstall the app. For cloud backup deletion, see our account deletion page.
Is PeakTrace free?
Yes, PeakTrace is completely free with no ads and no in-app purchases.

Wie zeichne ich einen GPS-Track auf?
Starte PeakTrace, tippe auf Aufnahme und wähle deine Aktivität (Skifahren, Radfahren oder Wandern). Erlaube den Standortzugriff, wenn du danach gefragt wirst. Tippe auf Stopp, wenn du fertig bist.
Warum braucht die App dauerhaften Standortzugriff?
PeakTrace zeichnet GPS-Tracks durchgehend während deiner Aktivität auf. Der Hintergrund-Standortzugriff stellt sicher, dass die Aufnahme weiterläuft, wenn das Handy in der Tasche ist, der Bildschirm aus ist oder du kurz eine andere App öffnest. Ohne diese Berechtigung hätte dein Track große Lücken.
Wo werden meine Daten gespeichert?
Alle Tracks und Daten werden lokal auf deinem Gerät gespeichert. Nichts wird an einen Server gesendet, es sei denn, du aktivierst das optionale Cloud-Backup über Google Sign-In.
Wie exportiere ich meine Tracks?
Öffne einen Track, tippe auf das Teilen-Symbol und wähle Als GPX exportieren. Du kannst die Datei dann per E-Mail, AirDrop oder jeder anderen App teilen.
Wie lösche ich meine Daten?
Du kannst einzelne Tracks aus der Track-Liste löschen. Um alle Daten zu löschen, gehe in die Einstellungen und wähle „Alle Daten löschen" oder deinstalliere die App. Für die Löschung des Cloud-Backups siehe unsere Konto-Löschungsseite.
